Alpinecast may request access to your device's location services to:

Alpinecast retrieves snow forecast and weather data from public weather APIs:

- We do not track or analyze your forecast viewing patterns
Local Data Storage
Alpinecast stores minimal data locally on your device:
- Favorite Locations: Ski resorts and locations you save are stored only on your device
- App Preferences: Settings like units (metric/imperial) and notification preferences
- Cached Weather Data: Temporarily cached to reduce network requests and improve performance
All data remains on your device and is never synced or backed up to our servers.
Third-Party Services
Alpinecast integrates with the following third-party services:
Weather Data Providers: We fetch forecast data from public weather APIs. These requests are anonymous and do not include personal identifiers.
We do NOT use:

- ❌ Crash reporting services
- ❌ Advertising networks

Network Activity
Alpinecast requires internet connectivity to:
- Fetch current and forecasted snow conditions
- Retrieve weather data for selected locations
- Load resort information and base data
All network requests are made for functional purposes only. We do not transmit any personal data or tracking information.
Push Notifications
Alpinecast may send push notifications for:
- Snow alerts for your favorite locations
- Significant weather changes
- Powder day notifications
Notifications are processed locally on your device based on weather conditions you've configured. No personal data is required or transmitted to send notifications. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Data Security
Your data security is important to us:
- Since we don't collect personal data, there is no centralized data to secure
- All your preferences and favorites are protected by iOS's app sandboxing
